Malawi Government’s effort to improve education quality has resulted in major reviews of curricula. The reviews incorporate many educational initiatives aimed at addressing contemporary issues. However, the reviews have fallen short of creating democratic classroom processes that help learners to develop independent and open minds. Students are still not trained to think, analyze information and relate it to the context in which they live so that they can fit in the rapidly changing context of Malawi, and the world. This project aims at addressing this shortfall.
