The course will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the nature of these new power relations and how they influence media and journalism

The OSISA Journalism Summer School is a response to the perceived multiple challenges confronting journalism and the media in Southern Africa.

Africa Check was devised by the non-profit Agence France-Presse (AFP) Foundation, in partnership with the Journalism Department of the University of the Witwatersrand. It was launched in October 2012 with support from Google via the International Press Institute (IPI). It was set up as a UK-registered non-profit organisation in June 2012. It is overseen by a five-member board of independent trustees comprising the following:
