Lambda -­ Mozambican Association for Sexual Minority Rights

LAMBDA was established in 2006 by gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Mozambican citizens to demand equal rights for LGBT citizens, fight discrimination and prejudice, educate the general public about the LGBT community, and provide services and support to the LGBT community. In 2006, LAMBDA developed its first strategic plan (2007-2010) which was successfully implemented with support of HIVOS, the Royal Netherlands Embassy and UNFPA. In 2010, OSISA became the fourth key donor to support the strategic plan. In 2012, with the support of OSISA, LAMBDA went through a strategic development process that not only saw structural changes in the organisation, but saw the developed a new five-year strategic plan. This strategic plan has been supported by donors such as OSISA/OSF, Oxfam Novib, Royal Netherlands Embassy, the Global Fund and others. ShareThis
