Positive Vibes

Positive Vibes (PV) is a Namibia-based regional training and project implementation organisation with offices in Windhoek and Ongwediwa. For strategic reasons, PV now has a satellite office in Cape Town, a consultant hub in Durban and recently, with an outreach consultant covering French-speaking Africa and parts of Eastern Africa, has a temporary base in Nairobi. PV is a Namibia registered Trust, which traces its roots to the HIV work of the Danish development organisation, Ibis. PV's focus areas are PLHIV (People Living with HIV) rights and LGBTI rights. It has in particular been pioneering and taking to scale a range of methodologies aiming to address self-stigma and stigma and enhance the self-efficacy and voice of marginalised individuals and groups, as foundational steps to societal change. PV, as a next step, is moving to tailored organisational development (OD) training and support. PV has since late 2014 also been involved in work targeting sex workers, as this population is disproportionately affected by HIV and has large numbers of transgender persons (especially M2F). Over the last few years, a number of significant changes have occurred in PV. Through successful alliance building and fundraising work, the organisation has expanded and widened its remit. It now has a regional presence, and, in some areas of work, it is an organisation with an Africa-wide footprint. ShareThis
