Language Rights

OSISA efforts seek to protect and promote the use of indigenous languages, thereby enhancing Southern Africans' effective participation in all spheres of life. In particular, OSISA supports the training of language professionals, and the development of literature and language development across the region. Literature and language development are promoted through translations, and through the solicitation and commissioning of original manuscripts in African languages.
