Creative Space: Creating during COVID-19
Introductory Remarks (Levison Kabwato – OSISA Communications Manager)
As the whole world came to grips with the fast-spreading of Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, OSISA recognised the extent to which we can all be affected, especially considering the state of our health systems in the region.
Through this creative art initiative, we extended an invitation to content creators/creatives, artists and cultural activists across southern Africa to work with us towards any of the six (6) pillars guiding our response to the pandemic. The idea was to encourage content creators to assist in crafting and disseminating credible information while also raising awareness on COVID-19 and its impact across southern Africa. We asked the creators to be bold and creative in challenging our collective imagination by inviting us into their thoughts and interpretation of current events through art. The end result is below.
